Golf in Bulgaria is certainly at the early stages but there is growing interest from foreign golfers and with big names adding their weight behind the Pirin Golf club near Bansko and the Sofia Golf Club, the interest is sure to continue.
I am sure there are many of you who like skiing. And the ones who can afford it probably go to places like Austria or Switzerland. But you should definitely consider visiting Bulgaria.
The town centre is dominated by neo-classical Stalinist architecture and is surrounded by a sprawling periphery of bleak, Socialist-era block housing wich are now being rebuilt to state of the art apartments.
The town of Bansko is situated at the Glazne river at the northeastern bottom of the Pirin Mountains in Bulgaria, 160 km south of Sofia. Bansko is one of the biggest mountain resorts in Bulgaria.
Mount Vitosha, whose foothills begin some 7 km from the centre of Bulgaria’s capital, is very much a part of the city and is the source of its pure water and fresh breezes.
